- David Newton
David Newton moved from New York City to Ireland in August 2002 with his wife and four children. He has degrees from the Rhode Island School of Design, Fordham University & Colombia University. His paintings often depict everyday life & can also contain phrases. He has had 7 solo exhibitions and is presently represented by The Blue Leaf Gallery. In his cow sculpture David used phrases from choice scholars, Senator David Norris & Declan Kiberd. The phrases form branded spots that pierce the fibreglass shell, and within the interior of a cow, images of a cows daily life are depicted. It is hoped that the viewer will aim to interpret a cows everyday life as Joyce interpreted those of his characters in his novel Ulyssess.
